More specifically, he argues that they’re creating separate and unequal performance standards for their black, white, Hispanic, Asian, and disabled children. He writes, â€Å"Florida set a goal of having 86 percent of white kids at or above grade level by 2018. For black kids, the goal is 74 percent. † In this passage, he is suggesting that schools are wrongly establishing lower education standards and are even varying the standards between races. In conclusion, Pitts’ belief is that this â€Å"reverse racism† gives kids of minorities the mistaken idea that they carry some inherent deficiency that renders them unable to compete with other kids on an equal playing field. So people like to buy stuff from college students, giving them a high trust. In China annually last-year students spontaneously organize a secondhand market to exchange of second hand school materials. They place stalls along the college street, as long as 100 meters, and becomes a kind of tradition. Even some residents nearby the campus join this team. There is a great deal of graduate students in college every year and they have a lot of things hard to take away but still useful. Slavery in America: The Beginning of the Civil War Should humans be autonomous or responsible? In other words, should they follow the convictions of their own hearts or surrender their ideals to another power presumed to be superior in its wisdom? This dilemma between autonomy and responsibility presents itself constantly. The struggles over abortion, euthanasia, and drug legalization are perfect examples. In each of these cases, individuals are either pushing for stronger individual rights (the freedom to make decisions regarding their own lives) or a stronger stance on the behalf of their government (to legally prevent individuals from making bad decisions). When looking at the civil war in America the dilemma over autonomy vs. responsibility is an interesting one. Its uniqueness is highlighted when looking at the question: to whom are they responsible. In 1776, the United States declares their freedom from Great Britain. Rather than remaining responsible to the British government, who was suddenly attempting to control them, representatives from the thirteen colonies of America sign the Declaration of Independence. While laying out the framework for this independence, numerous debates arise over the question of slavery. Despite opposing viewpoints over this issue, the Declaration of Independence is signed with slavery remaining intact. By leaving the issue of slavery unresolved in the Declaration of Independence, America’s future would rest upon an institution with an unsteady foundation. Why Teach? Alisha Anderson Grand Canyon University: EDU 576 March 6, 2013 Why teach? I believe that it was meant for me to become a teacher. I have a passion for learning, and I will make my classroom an adventure of learning. A teacher of the year also from Mississippi, Wynona Herchenhahn (2009) indicated that she was a product of good teachers, and I also think that I had many influences coming from great parents and teachers. I love teaching students, they bring out my best values.I like how teachers have the power to change students’ lives to guide them in the right educational path, and that is what I want to do. The person that has inspired me to become a teacher is my mother, Mrs. Jessie Mae Ayers. She has been teaching at the same private school since 1983. She has taught pre-k (3 year olds), 5th -8th graders, and now she has been a librarian since 2004. I would like to be a kindergarten teacher it is the foundation of a student education, and I will like to be the eff ective teacher that starts that journey.I have worked three years as a kindergarten assistant and five years as a pre-k (four year olds) assistant at a public school. I have a love and respect for students; that I can use to build a solid learning community.
